WHAT DO THE PLANETS TELL US?

THE PLANETS AND THEIR QUALITIES - WHAT DO THEY TELL US?

(first posted 6 June 2016)

-Have you ever wondered about the planets in our Solar System and the effect they may have on us, not only astrologically but also energetically?

-What are Saturn's energies all about? And Jupiter's? What does our magnificent Sun symbolise, other than light and warmth?

-Do these giants in space really have an energetic, as well as an astrological meaning?

It wasn't until 2016, when I tuned in to each planet myself, guided by another spiritual mentor, that I realised that the planets are like living bodies of form, each with THEIR OWN UNIQUE ENERGIES. I do believe in astrology and that some people are very skilled at deriving meaning and insight from the position of the planets in the sky as seen from Earth - but the intuitive vision/experience I had, gave me a wider understanding of these awesome celestial entities. I realised how their energies affect us, individually and together, on our  journey through Life.

Planets influence us differently depending on our circumstances, our own qualities and what we are here to develop or improve about ourselves. I invite you to connect with the planets to find out how they each influence your life situations)

HERE ARE THE QUALITIES I PICKED UP ON, WHEN I TUNED IN TO EACH PLANET:

MERCURY:

QUALITIES: Mercury's energies feel slightly 'heavy' and almost too busy, or 'coming on too strong', if you are a quiet and sensitive person. A person with a strong Mercury in their birth chart, can also have this affect on you.

  • It is a busy planet, very physical, very 3D - but it holds other dimensions too.
  • It is about contact/communication.
  • Quick tempo.
  • Talking/phones/internet.
  • Moving/movement.
  • Up and down landscape and energies.
  • Love/light is there in the core, behind the cool shell/surface.

MESSAGE: It can feel a little intimidating and ruthless, as if feelings and kindness are wrapped up in a hard shell - but the supporting energy, the core inside, as I found with all the Planets, is all about - Love. No matter what hardships this and all the other Planets exude, Love is the ultimate base - Love is the core of it all. So all the trials and tribulations we go through, is for our highest good in the end. Good to remember, along our journey through Life! The Universe is benevolent. Whatever hardships we go through, is for our own lesson, release and healing. We are on the way home, to Love.

VENUS:

QUALITIES: Venus is very feminine. Pink/Yellow. A very gentle but powerful Planet.

  • Represents Love.
  • Natural beauty.
  • Flowing angels/mermaids.
  • Ancient knowledge.
  • No pretense.
  • Fairness.
  • Teaching.
  • Respect.
  • Dignity.
  • It is very open and welcoming.
  • Self-worth.
  • Also has to do with natural knowledge of nature, herbs, natural medicine.
  • Healing/doctor
  • Jewels, colors, gem stones.
  • Strong and soft. No solid core.

MESSAGE: One strong message I found was, not to mistake Love and Kindness for weakness. When Venus is in Transit (i.e. passing across the surface of the Sun, seen from our Earth perspective) you may see a boost, unexpected help, auspicious circumstances arising in your relationships, including the one you have with yourself.

MARS:

Mars is usually connected with war and aggression, and I do pick up struggle and in fact, INVASION.

  • At its core it is peaceful and kind-hearted and basic
  • A bit 'mechanical' perhaps, but definitely misunderstood and misused.
  • I see misunderstandings, injustice and mistreatment.
  • Sadness.
  • Fear.
  • Misuse and victimisation are prevalent here.
  • Destruction/Being destroyed.
  • Dust.
  • Life.

MESSAGE: One message is to Bring Hope to Mars. Sending love, warmth and flowers (symbolic of Life) to the Planet, and here on Earth we can send love, warmth and flowers (symbolically speaking) to those who act destructively in the understanding that they may have also been mistreated. It can help us develop compassion.

JUPITER:

QUALITIES: A general sense of "not thinking too much about how others feel, not because of not caring but because of being busy creating one's own happiness and thinking everybody else is doing the same".

  • Lots of Drive.
  • Motion.
  • Ideas.
  • Inspiration.
  • Creativity.
  • Imagination.
  • Happiness.
  • Problem solving.
  • Opportunities.
  • Go-getter.
  • Not so deep thinking, more doing.
  • Acting on impulse.
  • But very in tune with one self at the core.
  • Light-hearted attitude. Move on if it doesn't work.

MESSAGE: So when Jupiter is in certain alignments or positions in relation to Earth, we can expect things to either move forward faster, we can feel a surge in energy and passion for our goals, or on the other hand we may feel intimidated by these qualities in others, as others reflect them back as something we lack. What we see in our outer circumstances is Life reflecting back to us what we hold within. The feelings this creates in us, tells us whether or not we are in balance, in alignment with those qualities.

SATURN:

QUALITIES: Saturnian energies can be rather irritating and persistent, but they play an important part for us in order to grow! You have to WANT to learn in order to extract the benefits.

The importance of Saturn is often overseen because many shun the hard work that is associated with learning one's Life lessons. But it is VERY rewarding! Powerful energy! When you go through the lessons, Saturn creates openings for warmth, sun, love, flowers (symbolical of Life), all the magical wonderful things you can imagine because you learn how to open up to this!!

Saturn is a very important soul guide/mentor!! Not all choose to work with these energies, but the rewards are invaluable!

  • It nourishes special parts of your soul that are necessary.
  • Learning the 'no mercy' way - leading to love.
  • Mystery.
  • Restriction.
  • Wise.
  • Digging deep into layers.
  • Structure.
  • Understanding things.
  • Hard lessons, with amazing rewards.
  • Perfectionist.
  • Set in one's ways. Rigid.
  • A ‘good fear’, from which you can learn.
  • A great teacher!
  • Important for all!

MESSAGE: If you are willing to learn, you will get very wise, working with Saturn. Once you find your way through the grey dust, dry, cold, seemingly unwelcomingly atmosphere, to the wisdom and knowledge and LOVE at its core - you will be able to teach others. It is all-knowing.

URANUS:

QUALITIES: An actual feeling of being in deep space. There is a sense of just 'knowing' on a higher plane.

  • Light.
  • Different.
  • Angles.
  • Art.
  • Relentless.
  • Smart.
  • High level of knowledge.
  • Influential.
  • New. Unfamiliar.
  • Learn.
  • Being very sure of one's Mission and higher purpose.
  • “Doctors”.
  • “Hospital”.
  • Not friendly and not unfriendly at the same time.
  • Goal oriented.
  • Not so many feelings.
  • Focus. Just doing.
  • Not procrastinating.
  • Knowing what one is to do. No questioning it.
  • No doubts about gifts and abilities.
  • A bit arrogant, but not in an unfriendly way.
  • Not being aware of what it is like to NOT fulfill one’s mission.
  • Very fact-oriented.
  • Knowledge and work is for the highest good for all. '
  • Just knowing'.

NEPTUNE:

QUALITIES: Smaller. ‘Tighter’ energy than on Uranus. Again that sense of being far away.

  • Lightwork.
  • Possibly crystals/minerals.
  • Higher level ‘work’.
  • No 'Earthly', 3D heaviness and practical drudgery.
  • Metaphysical knowledge.
  • "Floaty".
  • Beyond intuition.
  • Beyond soul level.
  • Higher understanding.

MESSAGE: Initiation when ready. Practice and use one's skills, in order to proceed to 'next level'. Then reward, upgrade. Further knowledge to be revealed when you reach this level.

PLUTO AND CHIRON:

QUALITIES: I found that Pluto and Chiron work hand in hand.

Whereas Pluto is the one who

  • 'breaks down to transform',
  • bumps into things,
  • creates change when it is needed,
  • promotes metamorphosis.
  • promotes change when we are going 'off course' or when a change is overdue.
  • knows the higher mission/purpose of everything.
  • lets the truth come out.
  • topples any truth that is not cosmic of nature.

Chiron is there as the

  • Master Healer of wounds and discomfort during transformation. We can call on Chiron when feeling uncomfortable with big changes.
  • Chiron can fit anywere, i.e. can quickly heal anything. Material and Etheric at same time.
  • Wise.
  • Transformation
  • Healing.

THE SUN:

QUALITIES: Powerful rumbling sound, fire crackling.

  • Force
  • Appreciation.
  • No scarcity.
  • Power.
  • Trust in its ever-giving nature.
  • Not expecting anything in return.
  • Doing what it is.
  • Not trying to be something/someone else.
  • At peace.
  • Happy to be what one is.
  • Not trying to harm anyone.
  • Things are as they are.
  • Everything is as it is meant to be when left to its natural ways and course.

THE MOON:

QUALITIES:

  • Alien.
  • Compact dusty/rocky, but softness coming through.
  • Hard to get to know.
  • Hiding information.
  • Trust.
  • Like.
  • Smile.
  • Sadness.
  • Misunderstood.
  • Used.
  • Showing the need to nurture love, feelings and emotions.
  • One is happy when shown love and understanding.
  • Mysterious.
  • Ancient.
  • Holding much knowledge.
  • Reveals to those who show understanding, to those who care, to those who seek, to those who ‘dig deeper’, to those who explore.
  • Waiting.

So, how can You actually use this information?

You can tune in to the planets, and see what information and/or guidance they hold for you at any given time in your life. Their qualities may reflect something that you recognise in yourself. They can hold the key to some important information you may need, in order to release, understand, heal. If you know about the birth chart and the positions of the planets for your loved ones, you can also use the information the planets provide, to better understand those close to you.

RETROGRADE, FORWARD MOVEMENT AND TRANSITS

When a planet is retrograde (seemingly moving backwards across the sky, seen from Earth perspective) we may find that traits associated with that planet may be particularly potent, as it may bring up things for us to be extra aware of. It invites us to turn our focus inwards, look at our own habits, traits etc. Our shadow sides (the ones we tend to ignore) come to the forefront, which may make us uncomfortable. When we know which Planet(s) are retrograde, it can give us a good idea of which areas of our personality to work on - if we so choose.

On the other hand, when a planet (seemingly) starts to move forward again across our skies after a retrograde, a relief in the specific areas the planet represents may be experienced. An opening up, a lightness, a push forward, unexpected support etc., in those areas and characteristics that the planet holds.

From Earth, we can also witness socalled Transits of the Sun. From our perspective here, only two planets can transit the Sun - namely Mercury and Venus - as they are the only two planets that are between us and the Sun. Mercury transits the Sun more often than Venus, due to orbital differences.

When planets transit the Sun, i.e. travel across the face of the Sun, their characteristics (in us) get an extra boost, and it is as if we are being illuminated in those areas, and are receiving an enormously auspicious lift. The Sun and either Mercury or Venus, work together symbolically to aid us in certain situations.

So, by following the placements of the Planets in the sky, you can get an idea of how their characteristics can influence you, and in which areas of your Life and your own characteristics.

NOTICING PATTERNS IN YOURSELF

If you are having a hard time during e.g. a Mercury retrograde, there may be areas pertaining to communication that you are ignoring or are unaware of. If you feel a boost in your drive when Jupiter moves forward again after a retrograde, you know one way of how Jupiter affects you.

Over time you will notice patterns, between your own life and happenings and circumstances, and the different positions of the planets.

Many of us are very affected by the FULL MOON, but also at NEW MOON. And when we have examined what the Moon means collectively but also individually to us, we get a better picture of how we work, and where we maybe need to put in some healing or clearing work. The same goes for the planets as well.

USING THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE PLANETS FOR SOUL SEARCHING

Tuning in to our Solar system, is indeed a tool for doing some Soul searching and reaching a better understanding of your own traits and challenges. When you know what is happening in the sky, you will know what to be aware of, how to make use of auspicious opportunities and how to navigate your days with more ease.

The traits of the different Planets can help you find out more about not only yourself according to your feeling about the different energies they carry, but it can also help you find out more about people you know, as each astrological/zodiac sign is ruled by one of the Planets.

E.g. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, Gemini by Mercury etc. So people born in those signs, have a particular affinity with those particular planets, and/or may have lessons to learn relating to what their Planet embodies.

Looking at the placement of the Planets in your birth chart may also give you further information about your own self.

I hope I have inspired you to do your own research and find ways and/or courses to connect with and interpret the Planetary energies for yourself! With an open mind, you are sure to reap the benefits from from the wisdom that these magnificent and powerful neighbours of ours, are so freely sharing with us.
